Telephone Pole  - ListenHere

Sign on a post says a big reward

little lost cat ran away from home

that cat wasn’t lost, just looking for a soul

but they put her face on a telephone pole.

Seems like lately more often than not

I feel real cold when I should feel hot

over my head in a deep, deep hole

put my face on a telephone pole

Up in the morning, out the door

try to turn my less into a little bit more

somebody stops me and asks my advice,

I say, “just skip the wedding and eat the rice.”

Sky’s been fallen, been pushing me down

She says “take cover, let’s go underground”

but when we get there it’s much too loud,

it’s hard to be different when you’re in a crowd

Just when I think that things are looking up

a new perspective on my half-filled cup

I hear a voice come from out of the blue,

a little cat says, “I’m talking to you.”
